Day 9

As you may know Brain behind the Bark is supporting Lyme Disease UK, a charity that tries to raise awareness about tick bites and Lyme disease, which can result from this. So after yesterday's walk we went 'campaigning'. This meant putting a few awareness cards in the windscreens of cars parked at the car park of our local park.

Being outdoors enjoying nature and looking for wildlife is great fun for everyone. Unfortunately, it can also mean tick bites but this can be easily avoided by observing a few safety precautions. Dogs and dog walkers are at a particular risk. Checking for and immediately removing ticks can prevent serious illness. Of course, prevention is better than cure! Brain behind the Bark advises the use of year-round parasite prevention for dogs, such as topical spot-ons or collars. We use Seresto collars because they are the only collars that are tick-repellent, which means tick bites are prevented before they even happen!
